bb_757If you’re a basketball player, your ultimate opportunity to showcase your skills against the best of the region is here! The Best of the 757 Basketball Showcase hits the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton this Sunday.

“We have a great staff working the event, ranging from coaches with years of coaching experience to newly appointed head coaches,” said event director Mark Hall. Hall is also the head coach of Cape Henry Collegiate, home of several of the region’s top prospects for basketball.

The local coaches running the event include some names you’ll recognize:

Darren Sanderlin, Booker T. Washington Head Coach
Chris Fuhrmann, Western Branch Head Coach
Mark Butts, First Colonial Head Coach
Marvin Trotman, First Colonial Assistant Coach
Ethan Walker, Cape Henry High Assistant Coach
Clint Wright, Lakeland High Head Coach
Willie Gause, Warwick High Head Coach
Bill Brennan, Tallwood High Head Coach

“In my opinion, there are at least 10 to 15 D1 players already registered for the event, and many of the others will go to college at some level,” said Coach Hall.

That’s the point of a showcase like this. The Best of the 757 and recruit757 want to provide opportunities for high school players to measure themselves against some of the best competition in the region and put themselves in the best possible position to get recruited for college.

This event is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the launch of recruit757 for basketball. That’s right, all of the great stuff happening for football athletes in The 757 is rolling over into basketball. recruit757 will be on hand for head shots and action shots of Sunday’s action, for it to be featured on the new for basketball.
